Josephite Debating Club, the most active and promising club of the school and also the most famous and long-standing debating club in school level of the country. Being formed in 1972 soon after the liberation of our beloved country, right from the begining J.D.C has been very keen to establish brotherhood among the students of the school and also very commited to establish friend ship with the other schools as well as by means to debate and debating activities.

 

J.D.C standing on its 27th Aniversary is very proud to state that until now it has achieved all it wanted and had a lot of success in its deeds. And all the credit goes to the achive members of the club on different times and also our moderators especially our respected teacher Mr. Moinuddin Ahmed, Who had been with the club for a long time. Our other moderators this year were Mrs. Rehana Begum, Mrs. Charlotte Rozanov and Mrs. Hosne Ara Biswas. They have always been generous and helpful to us. They had faith in us and helped us a lot to achieve thsi success step by step. We will be always greatful to them for their support and pray that J.D.C will get the same co-operation from them always.
 


Batch 89 : Naurose Rahman

The debate club which you guys are calling Josephite Debating Club was first formed in 1988. Its a brain child of Mine, Ibrahim Khalil Al Zayad, Khan Fariduddin Ayaz and Late Rafi Ahmed. The name was proposed by me and seconded by Ibrahim. In 1985, Wasim Haider Chowdhury arranged an Inter Class Debate Competetion for "International Youth Week" ..Class 7-Class 10
were the participants. But it was under the Youth week organization, not under any debate club.. We invited our beloved Moinuddin Sir to be our moderator. These are the following peopl who were involved and were responsible to arrange a firts ever Inter School Bangla debate hosted by St. Joseph High School.

General Secretary :  Ibrahim Al Zayad (Class of 89) 
Asst. General Sec :  I forgot his name he was from '90 (may be RafiChowdhury)

Sergeant-at-arms :  Murshed Zaman ('89) 

Treasurer :  Asif Saleh ('89) 
Special advisors :  Rafi Ahmed, Saidul Islam Bappi, Zunaid Iqbal, SakidMustakim (all from '90)

 

The participants were  :

two teams from each school:
1)Holy Cross Girls High School & College ( HDC )
2) St. Gregory Highl School 
3) Mohammedpur Preparetory Girls High School & College ( MPDC )
4) Residential Model School
5) Agrani High School
6: St. Joseph High School & College ( JDC )

JDC B team was the Champion (captain was Zaki saleh, class of 89)
HDC B team was the Runnersup (Nashid Sadeq was teh captain, class of 89)
